The Rabonas are a cartoon football team who feature in a 64-page storybook called the ’Shapes Cup’. I created this book for my major project in 4th year. The book was one half of the project responding to the one word brief 'change' which aimed to tackle discrimination in sport. The second part of the campaign called 'Game Changers' targeted the older and more mature audience and was print led.
The Rabonas are shapes that are created in the Shapes factory but unfortunately, they are not like the other ‘Perfect’ shapes who are colourful and bright. The two teams love playing football however and meet in the final of the Shapes cup where they will compete for the trophy.
The book deals with the issue of discrimination and teaches children to be more accepting of each other and uses the medium of storytelling to convey this message.
